Why I’m thankful for my < 2 hour per week Options trading business
Partly because I can make money without staring at charts all day
Have you ever woken up just a bit too early and thought, “I don’t have it today,”?
That’s my morning.
I slept fine, which is nice considering I spent much of the past week in-and-out of sickness.
But this morning I woke up and knew that I didn’t have the mental energy to carpe diem (seize the day).
Some days we don’t want to get out of bed.
Now there are various & sundry reasons for me to lack energy today. Mostly some personal ones that I won’t get into here.
Regardless, the reality is the same:
I’m struggling to get the handful of necessary tasks done today so I can give myself a mental & emotional break.
And the big reason this morning that I’m so thankful for this options trading business I run that takes less than two hours per week to work?
Because I know that I can give minimal effort on a day like today and still make great money.
That’s freedom.
I don’t have to muster my mind to clock in at work and serve “the Man” when I know I’m operating at below average levels.
I don’t have to endure meetings with colleagues & supervisors.
(Side note: I do hop into a meeting with colleagues almost every weekday afternoon, but that’s fun ... I’m talking about the endless work meetings that employees & consultants have to endure.)
And I don’t have to work 8 or 10 or 12 hours today just to make ends meet.
Instead, I can sit down and write this email, write one more for my daily Bible devotional, and check in on my trades this afternoon for a few minutes ... and I’m done.
If I want to be.
Of course not every day can be this freeing forever (some periods of intense work must happen), but I have the flexibility when I need it.
I’ve found that my own rhythm of work life tends to slow down in the November & December months.
That’s okay because I can ramp it back up come spring time.
Instead of fighting my natural ebbs & flows, I can relax and ride those waves.
Plus, when life throws curveballs my way, I can set aside most things to deal with it. I don’t have to worry about the work slowing down, I know that it’ll be fine for a season.
(To be clear, I’m not taking an extended break right now, I’m just riding a wave today.)
I don’t know how helpful today’s email is.
But it’s on my mind because it’s the reality I’m facing.
It’s a demonstration of my flexible trading system, which I teach to people inside my Community (link in the footer of this email).
