The joy of trading in the midst of Christmas chaos
Benefits of a trading system without needing to stare at charts all day
Well, it’s chaos here in the Ketchum house.
Two-thirds of us kiddos have gathered together in my parent’s home, along with all the grandkids.
Christmas is a time of exuberant joy ...
... and joyful 📢SHOUTING can be heard all throughout the day!
😆
Yet, in the midst of all this, it’s still a simple matter to open up trades on a Monday, collect my premium, and then have fun.
(Yes, writing emails like this is fun for me.)
I used to spend all day looking at charts.
Well, really, I spent all day with the charts open and sitting inside of various trading rooms so I could learn from different “gurus” and hopefully grow profitable as a trader.
On the one hand, I did learn how to read the charts in a way that’s become statistically profitable.
On the other hand...
I wasted a bunch of time waiting on the gurus to make a trade suggestion and then almost blindly following them.
Blind following is a good way to learn a brand new skill, but you can never level up if that’s all you do.
That’s true across all kinds of skills & businesses, not just stock trading.
Plus, what do you do if the guru stops sharing their guru-wisdom?
😵
For example, I used to do a lot of freelance copywriting.
When I first learning, I would blindly hand-copy different emails & sales letters. Trying to get the rhythm of the Masters “into my mind” and absorb their work. Again, a decent way to start, but as one of the industry leaders once said, “swiping is fine, but don’t ever think this makes you a master.”
Same thing happens when I play video games.
I don’t have the time I used to have to stumble my way through the games.
Instead, I follow guides from people who’ve done it already and found the best path forward.
Sure, I miss out on the experience of learning it all myself, but I save myself so much time & energy.
It should be easy to see how that lesson applies to trading, too.
I paid a lot of money over the years to learn courses and tactics from different trading gurus. Some worked okay, most were a bust by the time I learned them.
That’s part of the reason I stayed away from creating a tactical-heavy course.
I never wanted to be the guy that taught someone a quick tactic that only worked in the markets for a short season and then started “selling my secrets” when it stopped working.
I hate that!
And yet it’s everywhere in the trading info-publishing world.
Instead, I’ve built my course around a major system (that you can learn and adapt to fit your account). Plus, I integrated it with an annual community so you have a whole year (or more) to ask me questions and get hands-on help.
(as much as I’m legally allowed to help because I’m not an advisor... )
Anyway, I’ve nattered on a bit this morning.
It’s time to get back to the joyful chaos of the day.
If you’re interested in my course + community, I put a link in the footer of this email.
