Coffee connoisseur can’t believe he missed this
Even expert traders have these gaps
A couple weeks ago, I blew someone’s mind (figuratively, of course).
🤯
I was in a club meeting with a bunch of entrepreneurs (we chat & help each other grow our businesses).
The leader, a pour-over coffee connoisseur, asked what everyone was drinking that morning.
So I chimed into the chat: “I’m drinking some Turkish coffee.”
“Turkish coffee?” the leader asked. “Oh-my-goodness, what is that? Am I missing something?”
A flurry of affirming replies flew in.
“So good!”
“Turkish coffee is fantastic!”
“Bro, you need to try it. Seriously.”
Almost instantly, a whole new world opened up for this guy. He didn’t know it yet, but he was about to have his flavor-buds blown away by the wonder of Turkish coffee.
All right, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit.
To be fair, it is delicious.
As a connoisseur myself, I settled on it because the flavor is so rich and creamy. I mean, just look at that beautiful photo ... it’s enticing even now and I’ve already had my coffee today!
☕ 😋
Something else I like about Turkish coffee is the ritual in making it.
It requires some skill, brewing with the beans over a special pot on a stovetop. I like staring into that stovetop fire while my brain wakes up for the day. (I’m sure a lot of guys can relate to the value of staring into a fire.)
It’s a chance for me to think creatively.
To let my imagination run.
Critical for making a living as a writer.
And let me tell you, it wasn’t easy learning the skill — yes, actual skill — of brewing this coffee properly.
I went through a week’s worth of mediocre coffee before I figured out the right way.
Yes, even a coffee snob like me failed for a bit while I was learning.
But I kept going because I trusted that when I got it right, it would pay off.
(and because I had a whole pot of ground beans to get through and I wasn’t going to waste them, ha ha)
The payoff was worth it.
And, this is where I’m going to (finally) make my transition to trading.
(Were you waiting? 😜)
Sometimes even skilled experts have gaps in their knowledge.
Back when I was first learning to trade, all I knew about were stocks.
I quickly went through a bunch of free resources online and discovered a whole world of Forex, Futures, and Options.
I dabbled in the Forex and Futures, just long enough to realize that it was waaaayyyyy too dangerous for me and my tiny accounts.
But Options?
That had possibilities.
It was a way for me to participate in the “big boy” companies while using a small account that would normally have only been used to trade “penny stocks.”
That was the first phase of learning a new world of trading.
Unfortunately — or fortunately, depending on who you ask — I couldn’t make the complicated Options trading strategies work for me. I just couldn’t endure the “buying & hoping my winners beat out my losers” approach.
But rather than look for a better way, I gave up.
One day, something pulled me back in.
I learned of a completely different — yet almost brain-dead simple — approach to trading Options. Something so safe the brokers would let me do it in an IRA. And something that was rumored to have an industry average of 98% win rates.
That got my attention.
I hated the game of using big winners to cover the tons of small losers.
I just wanted to never lose!
And this system seemed to give me a way not to lose.
...
Almost two years later, I’m finally winning.
And proving out that 98% win rate in my own accounts.
I’ve put together a little Course + Community where I teach the system I use to others. While the course is 98% finished (all I lack are three bonuses), the community is still in foundation stage.
